Pumpkin seed butter – YOU ARE NOT WORTHY
I say I love experimenting with food, but it is just a fancy way of saying I like playing with food. I always have, and that always pissed my mother off. Anyways when I saw a big bag of pumpkin seeds yesterday in my kitchen drawer, I just thought, hey, why not make some pumpkin seed butter??? I used to eat them a lot but now that I am on a stricter nutrition plan, I cannot really afford to take so much fat containing food. But as nut butter, it would be perfect to just add it into baked goods for my man’s brownies and muffins! How efficient is this!
Pumpkin seeds are an amazing source of protein and other minerals. I would eat more of it if it doesn’t have that much fat.
Anyways, I just wanted to make a normal, unsweetened version of it as always. Most of the recipes online add so much sugars and syrups and spices. Why? you can make it simple and add those later! Jeeez, why can’t people just NOT add sugar? can’t you just enjoy the natural taste of food?
So I let my man taste it and he was like…. “hmm, it’s ok”. Last time he tasted the macadamia nut butter, he was like “Wow, sooooooooo good!!!!!!” I also think that pumpkin seeds should be eaten as they are, if you insist on processing it, then may be make a pesto or something, I don’t think it is tasty to be eaten with something sweet. For that, there are so many other nuts which taste amazing as nut butter, like almond. Sorry sir, you are just rated below-average in the nut/seed butter competition!
If anyone has a good recipe with pumpkin nut butter, let me know! but you know what…. nah. I don’t think I will ever make this again. Really not worth my time. Until then… I will be just spiking it in every batch of muffins I will be making, but not mine! lol (evil laugh)
